Attached File  attach.txt   16.67KB   0 downloadsI'm using Windows XP Home Edition with SP3 (Currently all updated)

No matter which browser I tend to use it keeps crashing. I thought at first it was a plug-in or extension problem in Firefox 8.0.1. or IE 8 but even disabling all add-ons, extensions or plugins after awhile it would still crash. I did virus scans with ESet Smart Security 5, did a spyware scan with Super Antispyware (Free Edition) and also did a Malwarebyte's Scan. I found minimal threats nothing serious from what I could see, minor adware, etc. and removed it all and still ran into the same issue. All my virus, malware and spyware protections are current and so are my windows updates. Before I had these issues a couple of Days ago I had the BSOD but since I did all this stuff it hasn't appeared again Knock on Wood.

I then even removed Firefox all together and got Google Chrome only to run into the same issue. It took longer to crash in chrome but still did and I notice that the crash usually happens when I have a couple of tabs open and I may be on youtube or downloading something (even if it's small). I've performed cclean, chkdisk, disk clean-up, and defragged my harddrive and still have the same issue. I'm losing patience and could really use some help as I am out of options for my basic computer knowledge. Please help me, I pasted my DDS Log & attached the "Attach txt." below. Thank you.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links if you no longer have it available. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

We also need a new log from the GMER anti-rootkit Scanner.

Please note that if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows you will not be able to run GMER and you may skip this step.

Please first disable any CD emulation programs using the steps found in this topic:

Why we request you disable CD Emulation when receiving Malware Removal Advice

Then create another GMER log and post it as an attachment to the reply where you post your new DDS log. Instructions on how to properly create a GMER log can be found here:

How to create a GMER log

As I am just a silly little program running on the BleepingComputer.com servers, please do not send me private messages as I do not know how to read and reply to them! Thanks!
