I have downloaded the TimeShift demo from fileplanet.com.
The game downloads unremarkably. The error message occurs when I attempt to start the demo.
The message reads (without the quotation marks, of course) "gsVideoInit() failed". I have never seen this message before and can find no helpful reference to it on the Net.
Admitedly, the required specs for playing the game are a bit more than my machine can theoretically handle. (I have a P3, 800MgHz, 512 Mb memory, GeForce FX 5500 vid card....the game "requires" a 2GHz processor). However, I have always previously been able to squeak out something from even these overpowered games.
My real question is: is this error message unique to this demo vs. my system, or should I be looking for a more fundamental problem with my graphics set up?

It is more likely do to system incompatability. Nothing wrong with your computer here  .
