I've got an HP Officejet Pro L7580 All-In-One printer, Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8. Lately (has happened very occasionally in the past) when printing documents from a website, the printed text is absolute garbage (Ex: EFTDSJQUPO Dpn qbujcj!uz; !boe). Even odder, sometimes a multipage document will print some pages fine and other pages are garbage. This seems to occur only with internet related printing: web page, PDF files, even bank statements. Am using McAfee virus protection, have ran spybot and Microsoft Malicious Software Removal which have found nothing. I would think if it was a printer problem, it would manifest itself in all print jobs, not just the internet. Not sure even where to look. Any ideas??

I would download the latest driver first and then un-install and re-install the driver first.
