I had this same problem a few months ago and got help through here (link)... now it seems that my computer is having problems again. I haven't downloaded anything lately, no obvious problems, the speed has been fine, I keep using firefox with no apparent changes to anything, so I don't know where the problem came from.

I am currently using a wired secure connection that had no problem when I first hooked it up- it ran fine for a week before just stopping working.

My laptop acknowledges that there is something trying to connect, but never makes it past 'identifying' which means I have no internet access from my laptop (currently on my desktop).

Can anyone help please?

Please download Farbar Service Scanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
  • Check "Include All Files" option.
  • Press "Scan".
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
  • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
