I removed malware from my computer about a month ago, I noticed then that folders, particularly folders containing movies and photos were gone from my desk top. i searched for them in the start menu at the time and found that they were moved to different locations. Now when I go to look for them , I know that they are still on the hard drive, but they seem to be hidden. For instance I have a pictures folder that is at 1.5 mb if i roll the mouse across it. but if i right click, properties, there are close to a gig.

Also, there is nothing but the sample pictures in the folder where i know i placed all my photos for years. and I was checking out some old music that I use to listen to and all the files have nfo extensions now so they wont play.

We typically do not close/cancel/delete topics that have been resolved. This is so others can learn when searching for an issue. Also so that the original topic poster can add more info or continue if the issue comes back.

Thank you for letting us know you found a solution to your issue.
