I have a windows 2000 computer in which was affected with spyseriff and other spyware. Using the information from this site we were able to remove what we felt was all of it. I have application running on the system that has several executables with test in the name that runs on the machine. When you try to use in the files the system say they do not exist. If you try and copy the file to the machine it immediately does not exist. IF you copy the file by any other name it works fine. We have run chkdsk, but the system has no corruption. The files do not have hidden or system files turned on. Interesting enough if you look at the folder through pcanywhere you can see the files. I have looked at the registry and have not been able to find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello Price and welcome to BC.

What are the complete filenames of the ones with "test" in them? You can search those names in our File Database and Startup Database found at the top of this page.
