Posted 03 December 2011 - 01:36 AM

I began receiving messages symptomatic of a Vista Security 2012 infection two days ago, so I followed the directions to remove it (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-win-7-antispyware-2012) but things have gone from bad to worse. My browsers started redirecting (when I can open them), processes are being hidden in task manager (when I can open it), I was denied access when trying to Enable my Firewall per the Preparation Guide instructions for this Forum, and now I am even receiving Error message in Safe Mode. Sometimes I am not being given the option to run Window in Safe Mode, and am being directed to Repair Windows at startup (although I am asked for a Username and Password upon loading Windows- which has never happened before on this machine. I am the only user and I have never created a password). I was unable to run gmer.exe normally (only a few of the needed boxes were available to check). And I have the Attach.txt file, but I am unable to attach it using the button below. I could paste the text if needed.

Thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give.
