How to Hide Hidden Files in Xp

Guide Overview

This guide will explain how to hide the files that Windows has hidden from you.

  • Click 'Start'.
  • Open 'My Computer'.
  • Select 'Tools' menu
  • Click 'Folder Options'
  • Select the 'View' Tab.
  • Uncheck 'Show hidden files and folders' in the Hidden files and folders section.
  • Select 'Hide protected operating system files (recommended)' option.
  • Check the 'Hide file extensions for known file types' option.
  • Click 'Yes'.
  • Click 'OK'.
