As a complete novice I was feeling very pleased with myself.
Using information from your site I downloaded the recommended progs.
and cleaned my aging laptop
(,Pentium3, 4GB hard disk 64MB memory, Win 2000)
after a virus, adware and spyware attack.

However Spybot still showing the following problem, which it canít fix

Command Service 3entries

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Control Set002\services\cmd service
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Control Set001\services\cmd service
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current Control Set\services\cmd service

Have tried to delete these keys using autoruns.exe but get message cannot delete.

Can anyone tell me what this is and how to remove it?

Despite having AVGFree antivirus and Zonealarm firewall now running
I got reinfected with winfixer and other stuff when I went online.

Help would be much appreciated

Hi ballenni

Hi There

I have read your post and I think it would be wise for you to post a HijackThis log for an expert to review. I bet you are wondering what HijackThis is. Well it's a program that is simply able to show others what's going on inside your computer, in terms of infection etc..

It may be that Spybot is throwing up one of its many "false positives", and you may just have a few harmless registry entries. Howver, to be safe I recommend you follow the HijackThis preparation guide which can be found here. It is important that you follow the guide closely. A number of scans will be run which may well fix your problem.

As the guide says, after you have completed the scans that are recommended, please post your "HijackThis" log in a new topic in the forum found here. Please add your system infomation and also what problems you are having. Please wait for a few days and one of our experts will get onto fixing your computer for you.

David

Working through the HiJackThis Preparation guide but
having trouble with AdAware.
When I try to do a full scan it runs for about 20 secs then crashes and computer restarts. This happens just after it finds a critical object. Have downloaded again, reinstalled and run in safe mode, but the same thing happens. Worked ok when I used downloaded version (05/2005) without updating.

Ok, so it sounds like you got it to run.

If you have any more problems, don't hesitate to ask.

David
