Kept looping through startup in loop loading bar going across then flashes of the following: windows screen, flash of blue screen, no input signal, Sony screen, XP system options. Hit f8 to windows advanced Options Menu. Tried last known good config twice but same loop and all safe modes but no go. Followed directive in your post and did following: Black Screen Hang (before splash screen shows)
- Disk Diagnostic
- CHKDSK /F /R (try to boot)
- fixmbr (try to boot)
- fixboot (try to boot)
- Safe Mode (try to boot) Any suggestions please aside from reformatting? Thanks!

System manufacturer and model?

How...and why...did you "attempt to restore the registry"?

Is This your post at another forum?
