Hello I'm working on a friend's laptop and when I cut the device on it gives me a Checksum error. Then two options: Press <F5> to load Cmos default value and Press <F6> to continue. In addition to this the bottom of the screen does not display clearly. There are color lines that are approximately an inch going up. System Specs: HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC 4gb Ram 64bit OS running Windows Vista

FWIW: Checksum errors are often indicative of a failing CMOS/RTC battery.
