Hi,
So, I have to write my thesis paper and my laptop is typing like this
so9 i8 have3 to9 w2r4i8te3 my the3si8s p0ap0e3r4
I have a dell studio 1555, so I have no numlock or scrolllock. Running virus software now.

Please help

HI and Welcome -
Do you notice that the numbers are located just above the letters that are mis-printing ??

o=9, i=8, e=3, w=2 etc etc. -

The keys seem to be stuck or rubbing against each other -
Have you dropped or had any similar accident with the laptop recently ??
Gently turn the laptop over and tap or shake the unit to see if this releases the stuck keys -

Yes, I noticed that very soon after it started. No accident and I'm cleaning the keys now

Please boot to safe mode. Does the same thing happen there?

Cleaned it and it worked I guess? It didn't work immediately so I'm hesitant to admit that that was the solution.
