windows vista will not load

when i started my computer yesterday chdsk ran and the screen said

inserting an index entry with id into $S11 of file 9

this was repeating for a long time and i switched the computer off. I am now unable to start the computer as the repair facility does not work. I have windows vista installed. Can anyone help?

Obviously you should not have shut down the system. I guess you can try booting to the Vista cd and running startup repair options.
