The YouTube website will not display correctly in any browser I have (IE 8, Chrome, and Firefox). What could cause this?

This is what it looks like in every browser.

I have a very fast cable internet connection. Refreshing the page and clearing the browser cache does nothing to help the problem. I suppose that something could be preventing the page from completely loading but I have no idea what that would be. YouTube is the only site that I have this problem with.

Adjust your security settings. They may be too high.

I found out what it was. Somehow the domain "ytimg.com" was blocked in the hosts file. This is the domain where YouTube stores most of their site content.

Thank you for sharing the solution, so others may learn.

The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.

A learning experience is one of those things that say, "You know that thing you just did? Don't do that." Douglas Adams (1952-2001)
