Add to list of exceptions in firewall and antivirus

I need to add to the exception list in my firewall and antivirus. how do I access and add to the list.

Each AV and Firewall has it's own method for doing that.

Unless we know the name of the AV and the name of the Firewall, we cannot assist you.

Most AV have their own "exlusion list"...you can find it in global settings or in protection/scanning settings. In firewall they are - most of all - in HIPS/blocker/monitoring module.

As Orange Blossom notes, once you provide the name of the specific program, someone can advise or point you to instructions like in this example for adding exceptions to Avira.
