Requested by Broni to start new thread here. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic426473.html

Since running the Malaware software to fix suspect issues, the computer can no longer access the web.
The modem is fine - two other computers on my home wireless network are functioning fine.

I had in fact tried Malaware software twice before contacting bleeping computer with the same result and had to do a restore
to get access back. I couldn't therefore tell if the software had fixed the problem or not.

Now I'm just at a loss to know what to do.

Hello, Welcome to BleepingComputer.
I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.

If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.

Try this it may reset your Internet connection.

Repair Winsock and TCP/IP

Follow the instructions on the page.

If that works please run these tools.

Please download and run this DDS Scanning Tool. Nothing will be deleted. It will just give me some additional information about your system.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please just paste the contents of the DDS.txt log in your next post. DO NOT attach the log.

Third party programs if not up to date can be the cause infiltration of an infection.

Please run this security check for my review.

Download Security Check by screen317 from here.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Please post the logs and let me know if the problem persists.

Please post the logs do not attach them.
