I am ready to upgrade my Pentium D 915 processor to a Intel Core 2 Duo E6700. I have an opportunity to buy one at a decent price finally. My problem is I don't know which one I need the: HH80557PH0674M (OEM/tray microprocessor) or the BX80557E6700 (boxed microprocessor) or if it even matters. I can't find any post or Google search about this question.

FWIW: Service manual, http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dimE520/en/SM_EN/specs.htm

You may want to try the following, http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/DellPartsFamily.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs .
