All of a sudden I have lost wireless networking capablities on an HP laptop with Windows Vista. If I try to connect I get the "windows cannot find any networks". If I go wired it works fine (via linksey router). In manage devices it says the newtork card is working properly. If I ping the card (been trying to read and figure this out without bothering you all!) 127.0.0.1 I get replies for all the packets. I have tried all the diagnos and repairs options. I have also tried resetting both the Router and the Cable modem. FWIW we can use another laptop and connect with no issues (wirelessly).

I am at a loss as too what happened here. I appreciate anyones recommendations or help!

I ran the Minitool box as requested:

Should it? Did I forget to click on something when I ran it?

Maybe that is the point. I went from just powering up and being able to get internet via the router to suddenly being unable to. When I check the integrity of the Network adapter itself (via the Device manager) it says it is functioning. If I try and ping it, I get a response. So if both of those check out then am I incorrect in thinking that the Wireless Adapter is okay?

So what is the next step to trouble shoot this?

Is there a power button to enable wifi signal detectiol for that laptop? Try disabling then enabling the built-in wifi card. Go to your Network place and right-click the wireless network card then disable. The try enabling again and let your home network be detected.
