Hello all.
I am currently running a laptop with XP and I am having an issue with itunes and windows installer. I had itunes on the computer but of course with the new upgrades I had to install the newest version however after I downloaded it I could not get the install to finish because it said a windows installer error occurred.

Please help.....itunes is not the only downloading problem but I can download some things like registry clean up tools and AVG.

This is the error I'm getting..."There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Did you try a different download package?

The download could have become corrupted during download process.

Are you following iTunes guidance for installation?

Try checking your Windows Installer. Go to Start - Run - type services.msc, Enter. Scroll down and look for Windows Installer. The default setting is Manual. To change Start-up type, double-click and change to default and hit Apply.
