i'm having the same problem only i can't perform a system restore. i've scoured bleepingcomputer and found a ton of answers but none of them helped

If you mean that you have a malware problem...please post in the appropriate malware forum.

If you mean that you have some system problem that is not malware...please provide pertinent details re your system and exactly what the problem is, when it started, etc.

oh sorry. my problem being that after running combofix, no matter what i do, i can't seem to get my internet connection working. as soon as i click "repair" it doesnt even attempt to repair it, it just goes straight to "couldn't renew ip address." i've attemped using winsockfix, ipconfig /flushdns, i've made sure i'm not using a proxy, dns servers are already being obtained automatically, and netsh winsock reset didn't do anything either.
