I am looking for some help. This is the first time I have noticed this happening on a computer and I am really struggling to get rid of it.

I have a computer that was really slowing down. It is a windows xp computer with McAfee anti-virus protection. I noticed in task manager that the ping.exe was running really high. I ended the process and it just keeps coming back. I have ran Malwarebytes both in safe mode and not. I have made sure McAfee was up to date.

I searched for the .exe file and found it in system32 folder. I deleted it and cleared the recyle bin and it popped right back up in the same place.

I turned off system restore thinking that would fix it but that didn't seem to have an effect. I am not sure what to do next.

I would greatly appreciate any advice that anyone might have about this. I have tried a few searches but have not found a fix yet!
