Hi, my old video died recently (GeForce 7300 LE) it made a bunch of random colored squares and lines and at some point I could no longer see anything. So I decided to replace it with a better video card and bought a GeForce 8800 GT. After plugging it in I can see the screen just fine, but whenever I start my computer I hear a loud continuous high pitch sound, kind of like the sound a fire alarm makes and just as loud. The sound is unbearable to my ears and never stops unless I shut down my computer. I doubt the video card is faulty because I bought it brand new factory sealed in its original box. Anyone ever heard of a similar problem before? And is there a way to disable this annoying sound?
My PC is a Gateway model GT5232E with Window XP Home Edition. According to my research GeForce 8800 GT was supposed to be the best video card I could get that's compatible with my motherboard.
