I have Windows XP on my computer. There is a Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3 Classic Motherboard on the computer. I cannot get into safe mode. Please tell me what I can do to get into safe mode. Thanks.

What I tried to do to get into Safe Mode was turned off the computer when it was running. I turned the computer back on and tapped on the F8 key to try to start in Safe Mode. I could not get into safe mode. I could not move the cursor to choose the safe mode option. The system automatically came up in regular mode. There were no error messages. Please advise me as I need to get into safe mode with a Gigabyte Ultra Curable 3 Classic Motherboard. Thanks.
