I noticed a couple threads dealing with this, but it seems that starting your own thread is always a suggestion around here.

I believe I recently downloaded a driver update for my 9800GT. I assume that I had not restarted the computer since the update, but I woke up one morning to the system restarting itself and multiple BSOD because of nvlddmkm.sys.

I've tried

Booting into all modes other than Safe Mode

Uninstall the driver

Rolling back the driver

Disabling in MSCONFIG

Disabling the service

Manually installing drivers

Copy a new copy of the file

Run SFC

I have not removed RAM or anything, and I really can't run out and get a cheap video card right now. I also haven't run any kinda of diagnostic specific to Nvidia card to check or overheating or any other problem with the card, but thus far no one anywhere seems to have a solution of this issue. Right now I can only get into Windows in Safe Mode or with card disabled in Device Manager.

This is what I got from Blue Screen View

Have you tried cleaning out the computer, most often then not BSOD's relating to video card related drivers can be caused by over heating of the video card itself or another component.

Ok cleaning out the system did nothing. I did notice piece of plastic inside the case, but it looks like that actually fell off the card. I cleaned off everything. I even reseated the card. Still getting the BSOD and small vertical and horizontal lines before going into Windows.

I'll research it a little more, and contact the manufacturer support department
