Right now I started the laptop and it is being cheking file on C:, file system is FAT32.
But it is 10 minutes completing the 18 percent and nothing more. It does not respond to
any key. Besides in other starts in the course the yesterday and now it happened after
starting all went on normally and suddenly all display turned black without any response
so I restarted and seemed it was normal but it stopped again. The C disk is used 26 giga
and free 2 giga. I am unable to delete files o programs so i need you help to fix this
problem.
By the way I started again and now after being checking at 17% the display turned black
and no respond to any key.

Please...do not interrupt the system anytime that a chkdsk is in progress.

Leave the system alone...when the system has file problems or the hard drive or partition is fouled up...it's normal for the chkdsk to go back toan earlier stage, IME.

When the chkdsk is finished and the system boots into Windows...I suggest that you do the following:

a. Start/Run...type chkdsk /r and hit Enter.

b. Type Y in new screen and hit Enter.

c. Reboot the system. The chkdsk /r command will run to completion...before booting into Windows.

Thanks for your reply so I will follow your instructions and I will
let you know results. Just in case I did not interrupt when the system
is checking but as i mentioned the system is frozen cos I was waiting
about 15 minutes but it stayed at 17 or 18 %.
I will do what you indicate me.

At times...chkdsk /r may appear to have stopped...it has not. It has run into something that is giving it problems, but it's trying to overcome whatever it is.

If it stops, you will see an onscreen scream for help from Windows, stating that it cannot complete. If this happens, please write down the onscreen message.

No good news, I initially followed all your instructions and of course I left the
laptop its time but suddenly the display turned black and no response to any key.
Again I turned off and after a while I turned on and appeared the Acre logo then
the windows XP logo folowed by the ck files until 4% and again the display turned
black ,no key responds and the only indication is power on, and wireless enabled ( orange
led). Hope it help you to help me.

By the way, in the interim appears the menu with the options
to enter into safe mode and when I try to do it does not
respond and only to normal mode works with the problems I
mentioned previously.

I missed this comment...<<The C disk is used 26 giga and free 2 giga>>

Windows will not work properly until you move data files (video, graphic, mustic, etc.) from My Documents to one of those other partitions. I would move all such data files, but you need to move at least 3GBs or so.

Remove the hard drive...attach it to another system as a secondary drive...move the files from one system to another...at least temporarily.
