Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer :)

To rule out you having too many items starting up and services running that are un-neeeded please do the following.
Download CCLEANER the link below:

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

Just DONT us the registry cleaner function of CCleaner unless you know what you are deleting exactly!!

Then open ccleaner hit the tools button then startup second one down below uninstall then in the bottom right hand corner of ccleaner hit save to text file.Save it to your desktop and post the startup.txt here in your next reply. Also hit start run then type msconfig then hit the services tab then put a check mark in hide microsoft services what is listed there, after hiding microsoft services? Also I need to see an uninstall list from ccleaner hit the tools button then uninstall then in the bottom right hand corner of ccleaner hit save to text file.Save it to your desktop and post the uninstall.txt

The posted problem almost certainly has NOTHING to do with services.

"Freezes" can be difficult to diagnose. Start by systematically ruling out possible causes.

Have a look at:

Help! Vista freezes after a short period of idle! http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/275586-help-vista-freezes-after-short-period-idle.html

More important, please post more information.... about your hardware, about when this started, about EXACTLY what is going on and when it happens. You have not provided enough information for anyone to give you an intelligent response.
