As Apple had warned it no longer allows the sale of music through iTunes if you are using a version lower than the new 4.7

They say this new version was released to add some new features and for support for the new iPod Photo, but they also quietly disabled the ability to use 3rd party iPodDownload program. This program allowed users to retrieve music off of an iPod and copy it to their local hard drive.
