Hello, I need help with an issue which is nearly identical to another thread here on this forum (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic411535.html/page__hl__ethernet+controller).
After re-installing Windows XP SP3 Professional I couldn't connect to the internet.
I looked in the Device Manager and found the following drivers had yellow ? marks:

Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0887&SUBSYS_1458A002&REV_1002\4&3852CD30&0&0201

Ethernet Controller:PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168&SUBSYS_E0001458&REV_03\4&322CBC01&0&00E0

SM Bus Controller:PCI\VEN_27DA&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_02\3&13COBOC5&08FB

Video Controller (VGA Compatible):PCI\VEN_80868&DEV_A001&SUBSYS_D00014588REV_0213&13COBOC5&0&10

I followed the advice given on the aforementioned thread and have installed/run Everest & Speccy.
The computer doesn't belong to me, it's a desktop system with a small tower (no optical disk drive) and I cannot see any brand, manufacturer name or model number whatsoever.

If someone could let me know which details are required from Everest and/or Speccy?
Any help is very much welcome!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

You gave us everything that we need except for the make/model of the system.
We also know that you are in New Zealand (hows the weather?) so we have to also find the drivers appropriate to your location.
In the beginning there was the command line.

Hi again & thanks for the fast response!! The spring weather here is spontaneous to say the least lol, it's 7.47pm, 17 degrees & muggy as hell!
Well...would the make/model specs required be listed in Everest or Speccy? The monitor is an HP Pavilion mx50 but the tiny tower it attaches to is to all appearances completely anonymous!?...I have the covers off it but cannot see any information...

Please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy, and post a link to it in this thread: It is a convenient and accurate way of providing us with details of your computer specifications.

Hi again, I couldn't do the "publish a snapshot" thing with Speccy as the pc in question can't connect.
Have tried loading the snapshot into Speccy on the laptop that I am using now but the publish option is greyed out.
Have saved a snapshot, xml & txt file but can't paste any of them here.
I will try attaching them?
