Microsoft has commissioned a survey which rates respondent's "Online Safety" by asking them questions about their habits and computer settings. Take the survey here: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9786846

I got 70/100, which was surprising because I thought I did a darned good job of being safe. So, what's your score?

Read further information and details on the result Microsoft has received so far here: http://www.microsoft.com/security/resources/mcsi.aspx

49 for me. I felt some questions did not pertain to my online activities. I have not "educated myself on identity theft"
however a common sense approach has so far kept me safe.

55 here. Since I don't do any online banking or make any purchases online it would be hard for anyone to pick my virtual pocket. And I avoid social networks like the plague I don't have much of a concern over my "online reputation".
To err is Human. To blame it on someone else is even more Human.

They should really have a Not Applicable option for an answer.

I don't use wireless, so of course, I don't use a secure wireless connection.

My only mobile device is a basic prepay cell phone - no av programs etc. for that.

I don't use social networking sites either.

etc.

My score was 54

My score was 68. A good third of the questions did not pertain to me, however. I don't own any mobile devices, I don't normally spend my time scavenging the bowels of the internet for various way to protect myself (there's this little thing called common sense, Mircosoft. You should put it as one of the survey options,) and I don't hunt and gun down every single detail about me that exists online. To be quite honest, I think anyone who actually does score a perfect 100 on this test qualifies as paranoid, IMHO.

Hey, when it comes to MS, you can never be too sure.
