I received an error message I have never received before. I listed the directory of my G:\ drive and found a file I wanted to delete. The directory listing would even show sub-directories. When I attempted to delete it, I received this error:

Could not find this item.
This is no longer located in G:\. Verify this item's location and try again.

I tried again and got the same message. How can this happen?

:smash:

Sounds as though the file has already been deleted. Go to START - RUN and type:

chkdsk g: /r

then press ENTER and let chkdsk run on g: drive. NOTE there are spaces afater chkdsk and after g: Afterward, reboot. Did that solve the problem?

You have an unpartitioned 3TB drive? Okay, none of my business. Anyway, since I assume it's not the system drive checkdisk can run in the background.

I use this drive to store movies which I distribute to my friends. Presently I have more than 400 movies on this unpartitioned drive.
