It seems I can't pin folders to Windows explorer in my taskbar any more. A few weeks ago all the folders that where pinned there disappeared (even the ones that where added automatically) and if I try to add new ones nothing happens. Programs can still be pinned to the taskbar as before.

What could be causing this?

Try creating another user account via Control Panel then User Accounts and see if the issue resides in that new account.

If it does then we can rule out account / profile corruption.

Windows 7 and 2008 have a bug. If you try to pin 1000th item to a jumplist that already has 999 items - the list disappears and no longer shown.

Microsoft has released patches for Windows 7 and 2008 users. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2607576

After applying the patch, the max. number of pinned items would be set to 99.

I added the patch suggested by Romeo29 and upon restart all the pinned folders in explorer where back!

Since I hadn't pinned many there myself I guess it must have been when one of those that get added to the list just because you use them freqeuntly that eventually triggered it. What a silly little bug!

Anyway - thanks a million for the quick help :clapping:
