I need help, I have an Acer travel mate 4050 with a 40GB hard drive, for some reason Acer decided that they would split the hard drive of this laptop in to two, ACER(C:) and ACERDATA(D:), of course everything that gets install on a computer goes to (C:) by default, the thing is now I have no space on C: but nothing on D:, which is really annoying, does anyone know if I can merge/combine these two drives back in to one?

If I understand you right, you just have two partitions and you want to merge them. Go check out Partition Magic.

While I'm not familiar with the Acer partitions - are you sure that it's empty and doesn't contain system restoration stuff?

Also, a recommendation - leave at least 15% of your C: drive free to prevent problems with Windows. Copy stuff to CD's or DVD's if you can't use your D: drive.
