I recently installed Windows XP Home Edition (licenced and registered) to replace a copy
of the Windows XP professional that was already installed on my PC when I got it second hand.

Now when my PC starts the option to choose which OS appears. Is there a method that can use
to remove the XP Pro, (not validated) for the XP Home Edition (validated)

I have wrote to microsoft without reply and having first searched for a solution on BC hopefully
someone can assist. Thanks :flowers:

To get rid of the prompt (I'm not sure if the XP Pro partition is still on the drive or not) try this.
Edit C:\Boot.ini (make a backup first) and delete the relevent line(s) under "[operating systems]".
You might also have to edit the "default" entry under "[boot loader]".
