Hello Chip Heads!
You guys are nothing but cool!
I love to listen to streaming late night talk shows and play RISK on POGO until..
Games crash after the intermission (commercial) when reloading - Happens on two identical older HP Pavilion a362n running XP - IE8
Fresh operating system installs - no viruses - well, Did clean off the JS Downloader agent a while ago - but this game crash is new -
Reloaded JAVA and IE 8 - delete temp files etc. No joy!
Getting this error message on my desktop:

Let's see if a Java expert can solve the problem using the information you have provided before posting a malware log in another forum. This avoids confusion when you are trying to fix something from several different instructions.

Most likely because of malware attacks. It's much easier to exploit Java.

Hello Everyone -

Unfortunately, problems persist. JAVA is corrupt. Pogo games crash.

Desktop message starts out like this:

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6d9b4f89, pid=3472, tid=3824
#
# JRE version: 7.0-b147
# Java VM: Java HotSpot™ Client VM (21.0-b17 mixed mode, sharing windows-x86 )
# Problematic frame:
# V [jvm.dll+0x74f89]
#
# Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows

The full error message is pasted above

I have googled this : (0xc0000005)
Am I having conflicts with other flash drives on my PC?

I welcome the aid of a qualified Chip Head!

Please send Help! Thank you very much!

I love POGO games - RISK and CHESS particularly -

Looking forward (cautiously) to a healty PC!

Thanks room!

Larry, are your Java and Flash Player apps up-to-date? I have the same OS\IE you are using and play at Pogo daily with no problems. I don't listen to a streaming late night talk show, however, so I wonder if that could be a conflict? Try downloading\installing current updates to see if that helps.

Updated java to this version http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic424054.html ? Also have you checked your hosts file for any pogo entries? Cleared all browser cache and cookies? Beyond that I'm at a loss as well.

Hello Room -

Appreciate the feedback -

The issue is with POGO games only - However - I have seen a message window "Java is Corrupt" when loading Java a couple of times - Needless to say - I deleted it and have reloaded (and reloaded) and tested it many times.
Reloaded ADOBE also - Everything is up to snuff - JAVA cashe emptied - Reloaded IE 8 - All the usual suspects..

The clues are in the error message listed above

Please HELP - and - Thanks!

Larry, carefully check out this thread started by Allan a couple of days ago. He gives very good instructions re: Java that may be helpful to you.
