Hi.

A while back my computer was affected by what I thought to be a virus, which steadily operated in the background of my computer because every time I scanned it with malwarebytes, Trend Micro, ad-aware, viruses and malware would be recognized and deleted, but the next time I scanned it (it could be the next day), more programs and files would be identified up despite the supposedly clean bill of health I got from virus removal programs.

Then it got really bad when my computer was essentially hijacked and I would get the fake Windows virus removal program notification which would tell me basic windows processes were affected, and it would create a fake "blue screen of death" when I tried to remove files through ad-aware, malwarebytes, etc. Now, my word files are hidden, they do not show up in my documents file despite me being able to access them through "recent files" in Word. My trend micro cannot update nor can windows update run. My settings on word were also changed in the sense that I got a message that Microsoft could not verify my license, and now I cannot use word in a normal capacity.

I downloaded hijackthis and posted below is the log file from the scan. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated from you computer whizzes!

Hello, Welcome to BleepingComputer.
I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.

If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.
===

The HijackThis tool is not ready for the 64 bit operating system. In your case I need to see a DDS Log.
I would remove HijackThis using the Add/Remove Programs list.

Please download and run this DDS Scanning Tool. Nothing will be deleted. It will just give me some additional information about your system.

Posted Image
Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.
  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
    • DDS.txt
    • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please just paste the contents of the DDS.txt log in your next post.
