Hi i recently had to re- install back to laptops birthday after a dead screen, in that i could only just make out desktop screen, but was unable to restore or get any menue apart from the chance to restore to factory settings of from a back up disk.
computer worked fine after install for a week, then after i installed an update service pack -KB948465 the computer would occasionaly freeze when i first try and open firefox, and occasionaly when i run another programme. I would have to shut down remove leads and battery. im running vista home premium service pack 2.
If i uninstall this update will i have to uninstall subsequent updates as there are about 20 of them.
Now im only soposing this update is at fault. Also is it possible that a faulty power lead could cause an intermitant fault as it is in a well used state, and battery is us. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
