Hello maguila and welcome to the forum. A few things before we clean.

1) Noises like you describe are normally an indication of a pending hardware problem. Malware is very quiet. This may be as you suspect, a harddrive issue, but it also sounds like it could be a fan. When was the last time you blew the dust out of the machine?
I am also going to suggest you run a diagnostic and post to the forum in the second link for help understanding the results. You can also post a link to the diagnostic results in this thread so I can look at it:
Diagnostic: http://www.pcpitstop.com/
Results: http://pcpitstop.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=6

2) You are running HJT.exe from a .zip file in a Temporary Directory. This is unsafe as we will have no backups. That is why you received this message when you used HJT: http://russelltexas.com/malware/images/unsafefolder.gif
Please use the information in the following link to place HJT in a permanent, safe folder, I prefer C:\HJT\HijackThis.exe. If you need additional instructions use these: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
Fix this before you proceed.

3) You are running a rouge spyware product: Spyware Cleaner and it is running as a service also. See this: http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm I suggest you uninstall it in Add Remove Programs and remove it from Services like this:
Disable the offending Service
Click Start < Run and type services.msc.
Scroll down to SpywareCleanerService and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

Delete the offending Service
Open HijackThis and click Config -> Misc Tools -> Delete an NT service.
In the Delete window, type SpywareCleanerService and press OK.
OK any prompts, close HijackThis, and restart your computer.

I want to make you aware that this is optional but strongly suggested because of the program.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(I suggest you remove the HP stuff, it is not making your browser run faster. You may leave it if you wish)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Program Files\Spyware Cleaner\ >>> folder

C:\Windows\Prefetch\ >>> delete everything in this folder (NOT THE FOLDER)
Prefetch info: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_...refetch-XP.html

Click on Start > Run > type "cleanmgr" without the quotes, then OK. Allow the program to run and remove what it locates. Post a new HJT log along with your comments. How are you running now?

Thanks...pskelley
