I converted to ATT DSL in September and since that time I have had major issues with getting webpages to load. I have spent several hours with their tech support but the problem doesn't seem to get better. I am running Windows 7 on a Dell inspiron laptop connecting wireless through the ATT 2wire modem. I am getting the following message on a somewhat regular basis when I click on a link to an a webpage and in fact got the error when coming to this forum page:

XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: jar:file:///C:/Users/Gary/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/eq7uc3y3.default/extensions/ErrorZillaMod@jaybaldwin.xpi!/chrome/content/netError.xhtml
Line Number 469, Column 33: <div id="ed_netOffline">&netOffline.overrideLongDesc;</div>
--------------------------------^

When using IE8 i tend to get a server not found error. when using YouTube sometimes the video won't load.

i am at my wits end and need help.
thanks to any and all.

Welcome aboard Posted Image

Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same problem?

If you're using Firefox 3.x, close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode).
If you're using Firefox 4, or higher go Help>Restart Firefox with Add-ons Disabled.
Same issue?

Still getting:

Firefox can't find the server at www.youtube.com.

Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I can get to my home page (MSNBC.com but when I try to click to a story I get the same message). I tired CNN.com, the golf channel, and several others and got the same message as above.

  • Report FF Proxy Settings
  • List content of Hosts
  • List IP configuration
  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size
Click Go and post the result.

Nothing unusual there...

If you're using Firefox 3.x, close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode).
If you're using Firefox 4, or higher go Help>Restart Firefox with Add-ons Disabled.
Same issue?

Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same problem?

Same results. In fact when I disable the add-ons it is worse.

Another thing I can see is this:

Error: (10/06/2011 04:06:29 AM) (Source: Ntfs) (User: )
Description: The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable.
Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume OS.

1. Click Start, click Run, type chkdsk /f /r, and then click OK.
2. At the command prompt, type Y to let the disk scanner run when you restart the computer.
3. Restart the computer.
4. Chkdsk will run.

No difference in performance. Still getting the same problem. the one odd thing is that prior to switching to ATT DSL I didn't have this issue.

It must be something wrong with your service then.

Finally got ATT to send a repair person out. They ended up replacing the 2Wire modem and the problem is somewhat resolved. The click view errors are less but still happen. I will continue to work to eliminate them but I have just about given up at this point. Not sure what else I can do.
