Hey guys,

I picked up last night the Data Restore virus (Bad Hard Drive, Critical Error, etc.,) and was able to temporarily stop it through RKill, but, was unable to make TDSS Killer able to run (downloaded both the ZIP file and the EXE file - also renamed them, no success.) I also downloaded Malware Bytes, and right before the installation finished, I got an error message that it was unable to install (can't remember it exactly.)

It's weird - my work computer got it yesterday and my home computer got it last night - I have no clue what happened. Weird Coindidence.

My home computer has XP on it.

Any thoughts?

Jeremy

This problem has been fixed.

For those suffering from this issue, I'd recommend trying ESET Online Scanner.

As always, please seek the help of a competent professional.

Jeremy
