I need a new laptop that specifically runs Dragon Naturally Speaking Premium 11.5. I will be running CaseCATALYST software, Word, and SearchMaster, however, they have not given me their system requirements. I will not be running gaming or anything else. This is strictly for school.

This the requirements for DNS 11.5 Premium:

CPU: 1.8 GHz Intel Dual Core or equivalent AMD processor. (IMPORTANT: SSE2 instruction set required)
• Processor Cache: We recommend 2 MB.
• Free hard disk space: 2.5 GB
• Supported Operating Systems:
o Microsoft Windows 7, SP1, 32-bit and 64-bit
• RAM: minimum 4 GB for Windows 7
• Creative® Labs Sound Blaster® 16 or equivalent sound card supporting 16-bit recording
• DVD-ROM drive required for installation

As I am a student, I cannot afford much and couldn't possibly spend more than $500.00.

Thanks for your advise.

Thank you so much! Are you running Dragon Naturally Speaking 11.5 Premium on this? If not, my only question is the SSE2 Instruction Set. I keep getting conflicting answers from chat techs as to whether or not whatever machine I'm looking at can accommodate it. This unit is non-returnable which would make it a real bummer if it won't run SSE2. Thanks again!
