I seem to be having some audio problems with my Dell 8600 lately. It is a rather weird situation I have been experiencing. The computer and audio files work fine when my ethernet cable is not hooked into my laptop. However, once I link up the ethernet cable I recieve "Generic Host for Win32 has experienced an error and must shut down." Upon receiving the message my audio device and volume control dissappear and/or no longer function. I receieve the message "There are no active mixer devices available." Also, I can still open iTunes however it will not play anything. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I don't know if this is useful or the root of the problem but I just had to rid my computer of the Winfixer malware.

I've split off your HJT log from your post here, and moved it to the "HijackThis Logs and Analysis" forum.
That is the proper forum for it.
Here's a link to your log:

NOTE:
Please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.

Thanks Tg1911. I wasn't sure what the proper procedure was.
