For some odd reason my cd/dvd drive is not recognized. I went to my computer and didn't find it. Only when I right clicked my computer and looked under device manager did I find it. There it had a yellow exclamation mark next to it. I tried to update it but it said that it couldn't find a better driver than my current one. I have a desktop computer. I used windows xp professional.

I have had some luck just right clicking and removing the device then rebooting to let it reinstall the driver. It also should give you a reason why in devicemanager under properties like unable to initialize device or some such. If you could post that maybe we can find some solution to the problem. :)
