I just bought a belkin wirless notebook network card F506020 ver.2
2.4 ghz dsss pcmcia card ieee 802.11b/11mbps

I bought the pcmcia card for an old laptop but the pcmcia card I bought came with a cd that has software I need to install but my cd/dvd drive does not work!
So how do I install the software if my disc drive is not working...which is another question but i will ask it later!

I do have other computers so can I transfer what is on the cd to a memory stick? If that is a possibility? ALSO, the user guide says that the software will start once I put it into the drive and I don't want it to install on my other computer so i also need to know what I can do to stop it from installing ...If it is possible to copy what is on the cd to a memory stick! thanks for any help!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Can you confirm the model number?
Is it a F5D6020?
In the beginning there was the command line.

yes that is correct! I have it installed but now i am having problems hooking it to my router as my router is wpa2 and the crd is wep! I dont want to change all my settings and reset all my other computers to wep so i guess i will have to buy a different card or usb! I need a cheap one if you know of any? Or is there still a way of connecting wireless without changing my router settings?

Looks like the pcmcia card doesnt support WPA or WPA2 security.
You might check www.tigerdirect.com for a USB wireless adapter.
In the beginning there was the command line.
