After a week of being turned off I rebooted my computer to find it all of a sudden constantly running at 100 percent CPU usage. While attempting to reinstall Adobe Flash Player just now my computer started talking to me in a male voice that sounded like it came from Mars.
A Windows XP, Mozilla FireFox and Thunderbird and Avast anti virus. I have updated and run in safe mode,
Malawarbytes Anti Malware, SuperantiSpyware , Avast, Spybot Search and Destroy with no problems detected. Also have run Scan Disk and Defragged the computer. Problem still persists.
I happened to notice while looking at Task Manager the process labeled, plugin-container.exe, had 8 of those running and loading more. Thinking that to be an Adobe product I used Windows to uninstall all Adobe products. No help. The CPU usage is not pegged to any one application/process but constantly moves around. The plugin-container.exe process loads and then unloads several at a time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Download Process Explorer: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx
Unzip ProcessExplorer.zip, and double click on procexp.exe to run the program.
Click on View > Select Colunms.
In addition to already pre-selected options, make sure, the Command Line is selected, and press OK.
Go File>Save As, and save the report as Procexp.txt.
Post the content in your next reply.

Uninstall Tea Timer or Spybot? Or is it one and the same?

The usage moves around from application/process.

Thanks for the help.

TeaTimer is a part of Spybot.
Uninstall Spybot (a tool of the past anyway).

I hope it was just that.
Spybot is known for those kind of issues.

I'm not sure.
I just went to try to uninstall Super AntiSpyware and it and the uninstall program both quit responding. When I was finally able to get Task Manager to load it was again using 100% CPU most being used by FireFox with an amazing 18 instances of " plugin-container.exe " using the rest. Would that indicate a Virus? At this time there is only one of them running and the CPU usage is fine.I tried to view a You Tube video sent me via email and it was very slow and choppy.
In trying to analize this problem, it might have all started with the upgrade to FireFox. Is there a way I can go back to the older version of FireFox to see? Or am I way off here?

plugin-container is another "feature" known for causing issues.
Disable it: http://www.technogadge.com/how-to-stop-firefox-plugin-container-exe-process/

Does it matter that that applies to FireFox 3.6.6 and my recent upgrade is now FireFox 7 ?
