Ok, so I have an HP laptop and it has Vista on it with sp1 installed. Whenever I go and try and install sp2 I don't get any errors. It will say that it is 100% but will not show that it is installed when I restart. What could be some of the issues causing this?

You can try this - it may or may not work:

1) Download the standalone sp2 update (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=16468)
2) Disable your anti virus app and unload any other running apps
3) Right-click on the sp2 update file and choose "run as administrator"

With any luck, that may work for you.
