I had the xp-antivirus 2011 "virus" on my computer a few weeks ago but got it resolved. Well mostly resolved, because now I no longer have any printers on my computer and my computer wont let me re-install them. One problem I noticed is that the print spooler keeps turning off. I will turn it on only to have it turn off again a few moments later. The other problem is that the computer keeps freezing about halfway through the re-install process. I tried downloading a new driver from the HP website but that didnt work either.

I am very amateur when it comes to computers but I can understand most instructions or technical information. Thanks in advance! :)

Not clear to me...did you delete all listed printers...then try to reinstall using the appropriate software provided with the printer when purchased?

I never actually deleted them myself, I noticed they were gone of of my computer after I had removed the virus. I did try to reinstall them with the appropriate software provided with the printer.

Go to Control Panel/Printers & Other Hardware/Printers & Faxes.

Delete everything in there.

Reboot...try to install one printer.
