Windows Defender not turning on!!!!!!!

i have been trying to turn on my windows defender but for some reason it will not turn on... I go to my windows security center and click on to windows defender on the left hand side of it and when i do a small box pops up and tells me that my eindows defender is turned off...i go to turn on and open my windows defender and it takes about a minute for another screen to pop up to tell me "windows defender encountered an error 0x800106ba and or 0x800705b4 are the two error coads i have recived...i thought maybe i could delete the programe and download a new windows defender but it is not in the install or uninstall programs....i dont know what to do all i want to do is protect my computer please help find a way of getting this program to work thank you

Some good tips in links below.
If you have not recently added other security programs and this problem just popped up then malware would
be a suspect. After reading and following suggestions in the links below and the problem is not resolved,
post back for further instructions.

IMO Windows Defender is a worthless waste of resources. I strongly recommend you disable it (by disabling the Windows Defender Service) and use either MalwareBytes or SuperAntispyware in its place. Weekly scans with the free version of either combined with a good anti virus app should be fine.

And, yes, I have used both WD and SAS...SAS is clearly superior, has been for some time.
