Hello People.
I'm new to BleepingComputer but I really like the name. I've been working with these things for too many years and it seems that each year they just get worse. My biggest complaint is "Insidiaware" (Insidious Software). You know the kind of bloatware that should do simple jobs but end up isidiously strangling your computer. These are usually legitimate software that started out simple, but each new feature consumes more CPU cycles, more memory, more diskspace...

The best example is Windows, itself but I also include utilities like EasyCd, Norton*.*, Webroot, and so forth. They are almost always the ones that get the Editor's pick rating because they are so "Powerful". But power comes at a cost.

All I know is that I have a powerful computer that is almost entirely hobbled by these nagging utilites.

Anyway, I'll stop ranting. But I'm here to find good, razor-sharp tools that let me get back to work.

Thanks,

This is especially true of bundled applications, I think.
