After using the computer (My father's) for a little while it slows down and grinds to halt. When I clean out the ram cache, it become workable, but still pretty slow.

I think there may be maleware slowing this down. There seems to be a lot of stuff that is attached to his browser that he does not want.

I think I once ran malwarebytes (after changing the name) and it caught a fake "Adware" program that was installed.

If you could take a look and try to help, I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

Can you post the log of Malwarebytes that detected this fake adware?
