Hello, My laptop has just recently started going haywire. I double-click a program icon on the desktop and the blue rotating circle runs for about a second and then nothing happens, and the programs that I CAN run sometimes stop responding.. Now I am getting a total black screen, showing just my mouse pointer, which I am able to move around, then after maybe 35-40 seconds, an error dialog box pops up that reads "Logon Process Has Failed To Create The Security Options Dialog" on the first line, and below on the next line, "Failure - Security Options" and has an OK button that when clicked, the dialog box goes away and then Windows will restart the computer. Also, when I was in Firefox, I googled to find online virus scanners, and when search results came up, the few different ones that I clicked on were all redirected to a Symantec Norton Antivirus Advertisement webpage. I did find that I could type the web address directly into the address bar with no redirection. Lastly, a few days after my laptop infection, my wife's laptop started getting some of the same symptoms, but she is almost exclusively using Chrome. Both our machines are Toshiba Satellites running Vista 32-bit connected via Comcast cable modem/wireless router. We are both using the same internet connection, but we do not have file sharing activated. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.
